Proper Cornish is delighted to be supporting Bodmin Christmas Lights

Proper Cornish, the award-winning Bodmin pasty maker, is proud to support the Bodmin Christmas Lights Committee with a donation of new lights which will brighten up the streets of Bodmin and bring festive cheer to the town this Christmas.

After a very blustery switch on event in November 2022, some of Bodmin’s Christmas lights were in need of replacement. The Bodmin Christmas Lights Committee, a group of dedicated volunteers, has been busy fundraising to help raise money to purchase some brand new lights for Bodmin to adorn the town’s streets this Christmas.

Proper Cornish is delighted to have donated funds to purchase two new large sets of Christmas lights which will be displayed across the street. Also, with generous donations from individuals within the community and other local businesses, the committee has purchased new lights which will be mounted on the street lamps along Fore Street.

The Christmas lights switch on will take place on Friday 24th November 2023 when the community can enjoy an evening of festive entertainment and free activities throughout the town centre.

Paul Saunders, managing director at Proper Cornish, said: “As a major employer in Bodmin, we recognise the importance of supporting our local community and we are delighted to have been able to support the Bodmin Christmas Lights Committee with the purchase of two new sets of Christmas lights. We look forward to seeing the new lights switched on at Christmas time this year and for many years to come.”

The Bodmin Christmas Lights Committee hopes to continue to renew and upgrade one or two of the town’s Christmas lights each year.

If you would like to fundraise for the committee, make a donation or perhaps volunteer your time to help out, why not send the committee a message on their Facebook page ‘Bodmin Christmas Lights’, or contact Justine Stephens by email at justine@cornishlime.co.uk
